LoriConradPhotoLori L. Conrad, Senior Director of Education, has worked with the Public Education & Business Coalition for over 11 years as lab host, staff developer and director. As director, Lori oversees PEBC's education work in elementary schools in the Denver-metro area and across the country. She works with a cohort of over 30 elementary staff developers and lab classroom host teachers. Lori is also the coauthor of Put Thinking to the Test (Stenhouse in 2008).

 

 

SueKemptonphotoSusan Kempton works closely with the Public Education & Business Coalition as a staff developer, hosting local and national teaching labs. She has taught primary-age children from diverse populations for twenty-five years, with kindergarten being her focus and passion. She currently teaches at-risk students at Harrington Elementary School in Denver.  Sue is the author of The Literate Kindergarten: Where Wonder and Discovery Thrive (Heinemann, 2007).

 

PaulaMillerPhotoPaula Miller, staff developer and Director of Education for the Public Education & Business Coalition, works with schools on adolescent literacy in the Denver-metro area and nationally. Paula's education career includes teaching middle school reading and high school English/Language Arts. She has served as a district language arts director, language arts coordinator for a regional service center, and co-director for two National Writing Project sites. Her articles have appeared in NCTE's Voices in the Middle, ASCD's Educational Leadership, Classroom Leadership,and she is a contributing author for The Right to Literacy in Secondary Schools: Creating a Culture of Thinking (Teacher's College Press, 2009).
